The Stillness

2020 hasn’t been easy. Let’s take a moment to recognize the myriad of ordeals you have already made it through thus far! Your first pandemic… check. Surviving your life getting turned upside down… check. Reminding yourself to take it day by day…. check.

There have been so many accolades and triumphs that have gone unnoticed because we have all been in survival mode. We have been drained of our personal reserves so that we can respond to all that is going on around us. I can say for certain that you are not alone in that seemingly uphill battle.

What I know for sure is that when things seem difficult and slightly out of hand there is always a safe harbor. There is a place we can go to find respite and peace, even if only for the moment. It starts with the breath and continues with that place in-between thoughts. It’s the stillness.

It is from this place that all you have to do is the next right thing. That is all. Focus on just that step because that is where you power lies.
